I certainly welcome this new multi million pound commitment by the Homes and Communities Agency in Weston. It is a vote of confidence in our town and a demonstration of how far we have come in recent years. Most of the investment will be concentrated in and around the town centre as part of the Council lead regeneration programme. I am confident this will not only give a much needed boost to local businesses but will also vastly improve facilities for residents. I am determined at every stage the regeneration is planned and discussed, impact on residents and raising of available services are also considered. While this exciting new investment will transform the centre of town, it must be developed side by side with residents at the centre of planning and development. We have reached an exciting new chapter in Weston’s life, with developers more interested than ever in investing in our community. Making those investments in the right place, while improving infrastructure and services must be the focal point of this new phase of our town’s life.
